Frankel 2yo Sadmah Wins on Debut at Haydock (10th June)

They say all good things come to those who wait.

I'm sure punters felt the same when they saw Kevin Ryan's Frankel filly Sadmah after looking flat-footed at the two-furlong pole.

In fact some unlucky layers gave odds of 229/1 in-running when they thought it was money in the bank!

This daughter of Frankel out of a three-time winning Australian race mare [Mossfun] could be a very talented and progressive filly for owners Emirates Park Pty Ltd. The trainer's son, Adam Ryan, said this was the first horse the stable had trained for these new owners who have a number horses in training with John Gosden, William Haggas & Jason Ward to name a few. This good-looking filly was in contention but lost her position mid race and was outpaced and three lengths behind the lead when she cracked on with a couple of taps of the whip and given a lovely ride by Kevin Stott. The 6/1 shot fairly scorched home in the last 100m after looking unlikely to figure. She won going away by three-quarter of a length. This would have been significantly more if not showing signs of inexperience.

QUOTES: I'm delighted with that. SADMAH is a filly that had been showing the right signs at home but it's the first day at school and she was in the stalls a long time. She was a little bit outpaced when they quickened things up but that's to be expected first time out and she stayed on strongly and hit the line well. It's our first winner for Emirates Park and I hope she has a bright future. She looks like a filly who will do better in time, her pedigree suggests that - Adam Ryan, assistant trainer.
