Kentucky Derby 2020 Betting: 9 Horses Might Turn The Tide This September

The Churchill Downs is taking its final shape as the 146th renewal of the Kentucky Derby will take place this September 5, 2020. Remember that last year, the Derby ended its most controversial version by disqualifying a real winner. Today, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Run For The Roses is looking to vindicate its prestige.

Like the Kentucky Derby's past versions, the huge favorites are always leading the pack of getting the most number of bets from fans. However, some underdogs are upset in the ranking and can come out winners after the competition. It proves that the Derby is anyone's game, and if the colt displays optimum toughness, he can win regardless if he's an underdog.

The Derby today is making way for twenty participants to compete. You might have seen in many horse racing platforms about the horses who were huge favorites. However, as you bet the Kentucky Derby race, there is always room to consider the underdogs, which can help you earn more when they win. Here are the horses that might change the game's course in this year's Kentucky Derby race.

Enforceable

Garnering at least 46-Derby points, Enforceable has currently earned a total of $314,550 since his birth. This colt is trained by Mark E. Casse and owned by John C. Oxley. He has competed in many stakes races since last year, including the Lecomte Stakes (1st), Risen Star Stakes (2nd), Blue Grass Stakes (4th), and Louisiana Derby (5th).

Rushie

With non-restricted stakes earnings of $108,000, Rushie is also taking a spot in the Derby in the next two weeks. He has tallied at least 40-Derby qualifying points and completed several significant Derby trails. Last June, he ended third place in the Santa Anita Derby and placed the same spot in the Blue Grass Stakes.

Major Fed

Major Fed is also another entry to the Derby this year, earning around 38 Derby-qualifying points. Looking into his bankroll, he had saved non-restricted earnings of $179,100 and achieved several horse racing placements. He placed second in the Risen Star Stakes, fourth in the Louisiana Derby, tenth in Matt Winn Stakes, and second in the Indiana Derby.

Storm The Court

Storm The Court has the biggest inconsistencies in the Derby odds ranking but managed to still participate in the Derby. He now earned 36-Derby points with $1,273,850 current earnings. Some of his achievements were the Ohio Derby (3rd), Arkansas Derby (6th), San Vicente Stakes (4th), and San Felipe Stakes (3rd).

Attachment Rate

Tallying at least $93,675 earnings and 35-Derby points, Attachment Rate will surely be in the quest for this year's Run For The Roses. This colt is trained by Dale Romans and has placed second in the recently concluded Runhappy Ellis Park Derby. His other achievements include the Gotham Stakes (3rd place), Matt Winn Stakes (4th), and Blue Grass Stakes (5th).

Sole Volante

After his 6th place accomplishment in the Belmont Stakes, Sole Volante has secured a spot in the Derby and stocked $275,510 in earnings. He also garnered 30-Derby points and tallied significant accomplishments, such as the Tampa Bay Derby (2nd), Sam F. Davis Stakes (1st), and Pulpit Stakes (1st).

Finnick The Fierce

Finnick The Fierce will also have his stint to the Derby after earning 25-qualifying points in the trail, which led him to earn $121,700. He is trained by Rey Hernandez and ridden by Jose Ortiz. Finnick The Fierce has also accomplished six racing games, including a 7th place in the Blue Grass Stakes, 3rd in the Arkansas Derby, 4th in Lecomte Stakes, and 7th in the Risen Star Stakes.

Winning Impression

Garnering 20-Derby points in all trails, Winning Impression has earned $54,822 total earnings since his birth. He placed both in the 7th place after participating in the Indiana Derby and Runhappy Ellis Park Derby. Moreover, he was the third placer at the Arkansas Derby held last May 2, 2020.

Necker Island

Completing the list of the Derby participants this year is Necker Island. He earned 14-Derby points with a total of $74, 8080 earnings. He had saddled up in many stakes races since his birth and earned several accomplishments. Some of these were at the Runhappy Ellis Park Derby (3rd place), Indiana Derby (3rd place), Matt Winn Stakes (5th place), and Gotham Stakes (5th place).

Takeaway

Like the huge favorites in the upcoming Kentucky Derby, the underdogs should not be undervalued as the scorecard is still equal and will only change when the race begins. It doesn't mean that the horse with the lowest odds value cannot blossom when he remains tough until the finish line.

Therefore, with the list of underdog racehorses above, you can see that they have also accomplished significant racing events. One of them might beat the big favorites this 2020 Kentucky Derby. All we can do is wait until the race commences.
